5 things you need to know for designing your socks
Are you about to have beautiful socks made for your company? Everything is designed with a sleek design that perfectly matches your needs. We are happy to help you design your perfect pair.
1. Maximum of 7 colors
Our socks are knitted mechanically, the socks are built up layer by layer. The machine starts from the bottom and builds up the socks layer by layer, in up to 7 colors. The yarns are based on Pantone C-swatches. Tip: Choose one background color and build the pattern/logo on that.
For sports socks, we use 1 base color and 4 additional colors; in this case, we could produce a total of 5 colors.
2. Less detail, better readable
The details are beautiful, but will be lost in the stitching. Our machines use 200 needle stitches around the socks. In other words: 200 pixels per layer. Small details will be lost.
3. Capital letters
Actually, a complement to the above. Letters are displayed as pixels, so to speak. Especially small letters are unreadable. The company name on the sole or side can of course be used; a slogan or text becomes more powerful on the label.
4. Heel, toe and heel
The heel (top edge), heel and toe are partially made of elastane. This ensures the correct fit. These are therefore made in one color per part. It is therefore possible to make the heel red, the heel black and the toe green. Please keep in mind the maximum of 5 colors.
5. Socks are not mirrored
It is possible to make the left side of a single sock different from the right side of the same sock. Please note that the socks should not be mirrored. If you want an icon on the outside of the left sock, it is on the inside of the right sock. Incidentally, mismatched socks are also possible.
